Happy New Year's Eve!!!
I do have to say that I am still not in total agreement with the doctor because I feel deep down in my heart that I should have the diagnosis of bi-polar/manic-depressive disorder. I have my highs which I feel have always felt that my anti-seizure med (now Oxcarbazepine) has managed rather well. The depressive lows are now managed by Prozac (Fluoxetine). The two meds are working rather well and I feel, for once, that I can actually get things done around the house and beyond.
Ready for January 2nd
Yes, I am doing the same thing: Praying that she gets a girl just like herself when she gets old enough to want a family of her very own. I know how sad that is but in order to truly understand the hell I am going through now to raise her. I constantly call my mom just to tell her that "I am sorry," etc. I do appreciate everything my mom did to raise me, now.
Being Ready for the Holidays
I am hoping that after today James will at least get some done this week. Heck, we only have eight days until Christmas and the kids are off Friday for the holidays. I am just worried the things weI am wanting to get for the kids will not be available if we wait to long.
Anyway, that is my delimma not yours, hehe!
Nice and Sunny
The Christmas program is tomorrow night and I am hoping the school does not cancel it because there maybe some snow. I personally just want to get the program out of the way so that we can get on with the next thing on my list of things that to me make the holidays less enjoyable. These are the times that I wish I could just go to California for the holidays just to be with my family.
Sigh, I know I am like Ebeneezer Scrooge but if that is the case I married the right person because James is the same way. I think we have forgotten the real meaning of Christmas.
My New Lap Cat
Ok, so I have to take them outside to pee and poop and that means for Sara I have to rake the front lawn almost daily -- I thankfully do not have to smell the litter box odor when she does do her business. I wish I could have taught all my house cats to go outside like dogs but no such luck around here.
Here in Goodwell, OK
The good thing is we are getting a very light mist/smatter of snow that may or may not get heavier as the day goes on. The kids we able to sleep in today as school started today after nine, which only makes it harder on parents especially since the roads never froze over last night. My son was happy about the fact that he did not have to rush around but my daughter had a hard time understanding that school just started later today.
Anyway, back to my normal day until I hear otherwise.
Sandy's Ringworm

Here is a picture of what ringworm looks like. Sandy was attacked on her head and back and hopefully she won't get scabs anywhere else.
Sara and Sammy
Sara does get a few minutes with Henry and Snickers but because she is so much smaller and younger than the two I have a hard time letting them play for too long. I will go outside with Sara though for fifteen to thirty minutes but I am mostly playing referree because the big deogs like to pin Sara in corners. I also have to make sure Sara does not go through the fence as it is wire and she can fit through.
Sandy Candy
Sugar Sara is doing better although we are still working on housebreaking and such. I did finally get her on a somewhat routine schedule. The thing we are working on now is her telling me when it is time to go outside before a second before she needs to actually go to the bathroom. I am hoping with age she gets a lot better and can last all night before needing to go outside. I know that will happen because of my history with raising puppies into good well-behaving dogs. I prefer to get a puppy than a full-grown dog though because then I can crate train them easier which keeps messes at a minimum and I do not have to hear complaints from my husband in regards to a dog sleeping on the bed.
The Puppy
Sara does have one weird habit. She has learned from the cats to groom herself as they do. We have started calling her our cat-dog, like the Nickelodeon cartoon Catdog except not she does not have a head of a cat on one end and a dog's head at the other -- she is definitely all dog. We did have a neighbor ask if she was another cat, which I thought was funny.
The kids are doing a lot better with the dog than I anticipated that I am very happy about. My eldest actually takes the dog out for a walk in the morning and took her for a walk around the block last night. The youngest will go visit the dog when she is in her crate and will watch me play with Sara without crying or throwing a major fit. I cannot tell yet how my middle daughter is going to take the dog. I do know that they all are going to like Sara more than they do the others.
I really think James is getting more and more attached to the dog each and every day. What I usually think is so hilarious is men are mostly indifferent at first but are the most attached in the end. Of course it helps that he must take Sara for walks in the night because I go to bed around eleven.
Trileptal -- Oxycarbemazepine
I am really happy about this as for me it means a savings of 50% off what I paid before. Any money that we can save is good in my opinion because my love for animals and kids seems to squeeze a lot of money out of us, hehe. No worries on the kid front we are not having any more barring a miracle or something close to that. Animals should not be entered into our house for a long while as well.
The puppy Sara is doing wonderful although we are still working on the potty training. I am training two little ones now though, my two-year-old and my puppy...What fun!!!
Yeah!
Our son took Sara for her morning walk this morning from which I was very proud of him. He is actually taking some initiative to take care of a dog. The other two dogs just run over the kids and thus even he has a hard time taking care of them.
Yes We Are Animal Lovers
Ok, I know we are the crazy cat family but the dog lover in me won this time. I got us a White Highland Terrier this evening with the kid's acting abilities getting to James enough to let me buy the sweet little girl. Her name is Sugar Sara.

Sugar 'Sara'
We went to Liberal to get our annual Christmas pictures which unfortunately I cannot share with anyone because they no longer let you buy the disk with the pics on them. I will say that I was not happy with them and I thought the photographer was anything but helpful. We ended up getting only one background and no props or anything. The picture James and I took together was so bad that I did not even buy that one. The one we took last year was so much better.
All I am going to say is next year we will be looking for a new place to get our pictures done.
The Mundane Days Return
For those who may have not read my blog carefully enough I did finish NaNoWriMo and am classified as a winner on Melia: National Novel Writing Month ...
Have a Great Day!
I'm a NaNoWriMo Winner
Now, I can get back to my every day life and not have to get everyone to leave me alone so I can finish my daily goals. The novel still has a lot of work but the story is written.
Next Saturday we will get our annual family holiday picture day. We will have to go up to Liberal again because our Wal-mart near us decided, stupidly, not to put a portrait studio in the new Super Wal-Mart. I guess we are just to be happy that they do at least have a grocery in the store.
The good news is we can go out to eat at AppleBee's because there is one in Liberal. I am hoping also to do a litle shopping as well but because the kids will be with us no Christmas shopping will get done until at least a week later.
Have a great day.
Happy Thanksgiving
Okay, so my shopping will have to wait until after the first. Thus today is focused on the turkey and the side dishes that go along with it. I have to say I did find a good article online that helps those who are new to cooking this American tradition it is: Southern Cooking: Traditional Oven Baked Turkey . Cyndi Allison wrote the article and it answers all the basic questions especial if you are like me and want to do the simplist turkey just to get through the day -- all the while I try not to figuratively kill my kids.
Long Monday
My youngest daughter added to my frustrations by being needy and sort of clingy as well. I am not sure if it also had to do with the flu shot.
Life was just not on my side. Hehe!
Still on Track
Now if only I can keep my son gone and my girls out of my hair I will get it done within three hours.
Sigh! Too much to ask for I know!
Almost Set for Flu Season
James said he would get his next week at work because he can as long as he can catch the nurse on campus. He says that that has been the main problem this semester because he is teaching six courses. He is better about these things than I am but I think last year changed everything.
Nothing Special
I got my words written today and am at 30,000+ words. I will try and get my writing done tomorrow before I go to the doctor's appointment.
Days 2,000 Words Done
Sorry no pics today, just my writing. The irony is if I have finished my words for NaNoWrimo then you get more words to read. I actually have very little to say at this time because the only thing that is happening is my son is about a head smaller than me and my girls are playing nicely in their room together. The good thing about the youngest getting bigger is that she can better play with her older sister while her sister does not complain as much.
I am surprised that the youngest is playing so well this afternoon because she did not get a nap. My guess is the both of them will crash hard tonight and that means an early bedtime for them.
Sandy and Sammy Pics

Yes, she is in the dish. The fact that we no longer have a resident cat that pushes the food out with her paw means that James or myself have to push the food down for the cats. Sheila was our cleanliest cat and would always do things like bring down the food.

He goes in our huge pine tree every morning when I let him out while I take the kids to school. I am not sure if he wants to play with the birds or try and kill them. Maybe he just likes the tree!

Another Day, Another Day of Writing
My youngest just got in trouble for throwing away her lunch. She has come up with this idea that if she throws away food will get her what she wants so both James and I have to look in the trash before we give her cookies and or dessert. The lessons one must learn about life in general is difficult for a little one. The thing that always scares me is that she acts like her sister would if given the same situation.
Now, I need to get started writing my two thousand words for the day. Yesterday I wrote exactly two thousand words. I am now at 22,063 words and should accomplish 24,000+ words by the end of the day. I will get to half the NanoWriMo goal tomorrow afternoon sometime.
Our Sammy Cat
We did have an idea that Sheila was getting sick as she started looking a lot like our cat, Shadow who died earlier this year. James wanted to take her in on Friday and the lady who found Sandy Candy and her littermate(s) wanted to bring it by on Friday so things just happened that way. Life just works out that way around here but I do think getting an replacement helps my family in the grieving process.
NaNoWriMo is still going well...I am at 20,067 words as of last night and will be at 22,067 or more tonight after I finish for the day.
For Those of You Keeping Track
As for the kitten she is doing good. She still has yet to really use the litter box but I am not too suprised because it is a lot bigger than she is and it is thus difficult to get in because it is one of those big enclosed ones.
The next addition of our shoulder kittens. Sammy was getting too big for shoulder sitting so James needed a new parrot-cat. The cute thing is both of them have green eyes.
Rest in Peace -- My Screamer Sheila
Aqua Dots Recall -- Date Rape Drug Found
It is too bad that we are not going to California for Christmas because that would be safer than buying toys for our kids.
Sigh!
NaNoWriMo Continues
Oh and did I mention my hubby wants to bring home a sixth cat from a student who has found some kittens she is nursing back to health after she found them on and around Halloween. If we get another cat I am wondering how my five cats are going to take it.
I would rather get another dog myself at least they do their business outside after they are potty trained. With cats you hope and pray they go in the litter box but usually they go wherever they want. Cats are cute but are a pain in the ASS.
Craxzy, Crazy, Crazy!
Today should be different as the older two are at school and the youngest is usually easy going. The good, or bad, news depending how you look at things is that she did wake up in the middle of the night and was up for about two hours so maybe she will get an earlier longer nap. All I need is a few hours of quiet time between now and picking up my middle child. This afternoon we have gymnastics so I will lose about two hours between 3:00 and 5:15 pm.
So, I guess I should get off this soapbox and go to my other two blogs to update them. Please check out the links on the right column.
Second Day of NaNoWriMo
Ok, so there you go that is how I go about telling a tale of my characters to you my reader.
Made it Through the Ghoulish Evening
I took the girls around the neighborhood first and then their dad took them around the dorms afterwards. All I have to say is my little ladybug and witchy witch had full buckets by the time they got back from the dorms. The thing is I will never let my kids eat all the candy they got and even if I keep it to get rid of at Easter for the plastic eggs I must supply the school with for an Easter Egg Hunt I will still have bucket upon bucket leftover.
My son ended up going around with a neighbor and his brother just because it meant he did not have to go around with his sisters. His best friends ended up not going around so he was a little upset about that but then he found the neighbor who would.
Happy Halloween
We will take our own kids out -- at least the girls as our boy is going to go around with his friends.
Picture Day!
I am at the school and photographers mercy....
Good Morning All!
So thankfully, it is Monday morning! I take that same daughter to gymnastics this afternoon which means she will be really tired tonight.
Sunday
I probably should be spending all my energy on my two books I have written as I believe there is an audience out there but I know that I will be doing NaNoWriMo again this year so I will spend January through May editing the others.
Hello out There
I thought I would let you know that I have started yet another blog to talk about all my tv watching, it is: Marvelous One's Reality and Television Round-Up . I also have my other blog Marvelous Melia's Computer Gaming Review that I am also begining so take a look if you like either games or television. I figured that these three blogs capture most of my life in a nutshell.
Have a great Saturday!
NanoWriMo Starts Soon
Anyway, that is what I am up to after the joys of school pictures on Tuesday and Halloween on Wednesday. And since I know you are going to ask: My littlest girl will be a ladybug, and the middle one is going to be a witch. As for my boy, he is going to be something black but I am not sure what to call it. I just hope this is his last year but I doubt it.
Big Brother 8 Spoiler
Thus I am rooting for Dick and Danielle to go all the way!
Hoping We are Finished
My two older kids had it on Friday and the youngest and I had it Saturday and yesterday. My husband has been lucky thus far and I pray that he does not get it because the fewer the people that get it the better.
Anyway, that was my fun weekend! The good news was I did get to have a good night with my friends across the street before getting sick.
Yeah!!!
I am so looking forward to the fact that we have three days off where I do not have to take my middle daughter to school -- I am just hoping the girls let me sleep in an extra hour.
I guess I could say that I am rather lucky today because my youngest daughter is asleep now, yes it is after ten in the morning. The sad thing is I am up thus I am not that blessed. The fact though is I am bored because I am usually outside now with her and we are playing before we go in to eat lunch and take a nap, at this rate I will get no nap and the book I am really into, The last of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, will have to wait until this evening after James leaves to do his radio program.
Long Time, No Write!
I know that I should be writing but I cannot get back into the daily grind of sitting at my computer and write rather than play mindless games. I am going to get back to editing my book soon as next week but even that brings a heavy feeling inside me.
My littlest child gets to look forward to starting potty training starting next week as well. I do not want to have the same thing happen with her as happened with my middle child but the good news is that she is my last child and thus she won't feel as though she needs to try for attention as the other did. Once she is potty trained I am done with diapers until grandchildren, if I have any!!!
He Better be Happy
I figure he is luckier than I am because he gets peace and quiet away from the ruckus around the house. All I gotta say is enjoy my dear because it won't happen again for quite sometime now. I at least need my one day where I can lock myself in the bedroom without the kids bugging me constantly...
Two Vehicle Family, Again
UGH!!!
Of course then there is the reality shows that I am missing or may miss if they do not turn on the networks soon. I will be so made if I have to try and catch highlights and such on the web of Big Brother 8 which is to start airing in the begining of July. I will get the live feed but I would miss all competitions and whatnot because they black those out on the live feed. The thought just sucke eggs if you ask me!
Not very happy at the moment...Can you tell? Hehe!
Frustration Over Network Outages
I just want to scream bloody murder as that is what it feels like at the moment, murder.
The other thing that is hellish is the fact that it is humid and gloomy outside which is even more frustrating. We in the panhandle are not supposed to get a ton of humidity yet here we are almost summer with too much humidity to boot. Am I in Missouri, again? I sure hope not because I never want to live there again, although I would not mind visiting.
Here is the Deal
The other thing I do is sit at my computer waiting all day, sometimes, hoping my neighbors come out or come home soon just so that I can talk to an adult while my kids get a chance to play with other children. There are times that I will go across the street without my kids, as well, because I need to get away from the little monsters whom I never get away from during the day as my husband has classes, writing, and research of his own to do.
Lose Weight America
I believe the reason why we do have a lot of actresses and socialites that are so thin is because the fashion world and entertainment industries are telling people (both male and female) that no matter how thin they are they too can be thinner with this or that diet or pill fad. Well Nicole Ricci, Paris Hilton, and all the other wafer thin people in the media need not lose any weight what so ever.
The emails I get are not any better. They do not know me yet they are telling me that I can look and feel better if I lose the extra pounds I have packed on over the years. These types of emails need to stop! Yes, I get some of the nutrition newsletters and such but that should not invite diet ads and such to be sent to my email inbox or spam box.
The other thing that bugs the living shit out of me is when I go to my favorite sites such as Yahoo Pool, or even just my email and the ads are on losing weight. I wonder why I am on the net so long when all I see is how fat I should think I am.
OK, so yes after three kids I have gained ten pounds from before my childbearing years. Who cares? No one really my family and friends all say that I look a whole bunch better after gaining the ten extra pounds and I actually fit close that are in the regular stores like JC Penney's and the like rather than looking for specialty stores that cater to the sizes under three. Yes, when I was in high school and college I was between the sizes of zero and two and I guess I was just lucky enough to live in Orange County, California where I could find stores that had sizes that small. I would have been shit out of luck if I lived where I do now!
I Should Be a Sports Commentator
There was also the fact that the fans of any sports teams and otherwise becoming real quiet when their teams are down. Why? Wouldn't it not be better if the team's fans became real rowdy in support of their team when they are down to boost the teams' spirits up and thus encouraging the team to try harder instead of giving up.
The last thing I was commentating the most on was the fact that there are all these foreigners come to train and play in America then when the Olympic years come around they play or compete for their own countries. This not only happens in the NBA but in other national sports and in individual sports as well (such as figure skating). I am not upset that foreigners come here to play professional sports what I am upset is that they then go back home to play for their country. Maybe, that should be disallowed.
The Dumb Cat
Stupid Cat(s)!

Someone PLEASE tell me what time of year it is? Three days before my middle daughter's fifth birthday and it has snowed. It looks like we should be celebrating my husband's birthday in January. Now For Today!
She also got her first haircut Monday. She looks so much older and of course more adorable, hehe. I kind of had a moment of wow-dom because this will be my last first in terms of my own kids but I am over that now.
My older two kids are graduating to bigger and better stuff as well. My son is now using big people plates and my daughter is using bigger plastic cups. Dang how much more can a woman, like me, take, hehe.
Yesterday was our 11th Anniversary
I love my hubby, James, more today than when we first met on April 11, 1992 when I fell in love with him as he sat in front of me in my dates car. He is my mate for life that is for sure!
Back to Work --
I will be going for now.
Made it Through
I should be editing at the moment but for some reason I just can't get into the feeling that goes along with editing. I have never been good at editing in the first place, especially, when it has to do with editing my own book. How could I need to edit when I am perfect on the first go-around? NOT! Hehe! I know that no one including me is perfect so to editing I must go.
How Wonderful!
I am in the process of editing my first novel I originally wrote in November 2004. The three or so hours I have while my middle daughter is at school is about all I need to get the editing done in a months time.
Son's Birthday was Yesterday
I made it through a tiny party we had for him and several of his friends. He hates the fact that his birthday falls on the week of spring break and many of his friends from school are off doing their own little things.
Anyway, I better be ready to get off at anytime because this is the last real day of spring break, thankfully, and I can just bet that my son is wanting on the computer. The thing is that I will not let him on unless he asks me -- I would rather him spend time with his friends that are around this week.
Taking My Few Minutes on Computer
The good news was that he got rather far in the process which has encouraged him to keep applying in the California area. Our newest goal is to get back to California some year soon.
Spring Break
In my house that means I will barely get computer since I got my son's game World of Warcraft working. I am glad that everything finally works but dang now I am going to get the computer less during this next week.
Of course, then there are the many arguments to look forward to as the girls try and bug their brother.
My son celebrates his birthday on Thursday and because he will be turning eleven he will be able to join boy scouts as soon as the following week if he wants and thankfully he is leaning towards that direction. I am also hoping that he decides to play baseball this year as well, but I am not sure he does not seem as enthusiastic about doing any sport this year.
Middle Child
Other than that nothing else new is happening. We are still in waiting mode and feel kind of on edge because of the unknown future at this time.
Well I am off to enjoy the nice day we are having.
I Got to Sleep In!!!
In reality though I got less sleep because of the time change. I still woke up at seven A.M. standard time -- the thing was it was eight o’clock, daylight savings time. I was amazed though because my girls slept in until after nine o’clock which is more than an hour than normal. The girls are usually up at about seven-thirty when I do not have to wake them up early.
Grades are Great
The school is pushing the kids a tad harder right now because state testing is coming up and thus they give the students harder work in several of the subjects, like math, but even so he is nothing lower than an 85% and that is in band and I have to say that I think that teacher is rather tough on all the kids. More reasons to want to move than anything!
Keeping fingers crossed!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
My daughter, on the other hand, is too young for real grades thus her reports are fun. \
We Are All Still Alive
The kids did get new shoes that we went after, as well. I was kind of shocked though as my daughter who is learning how to tie at school would not allow me to buy her tie shoes and my son who hates tying his shoes got tie.
---
On another note: I think I got my sister's kid in my youngest daughter as she is the clean-freak that my sister is. We barely got in the door and she was cleaning up and throwing away bags and shoe boxes. I am really scared, hehe...What is she going to be like as a teenager or as an adult visiting her parents, for that matter? My bad habits are definitely going to be scrutinized by her.
I Must Be Crazy
I am going to take my two older kids to Liberal to get shoes and then take them out to dinner by myself. This is the first time I am going to try this and probably the last as it means taking them an hour from the house in the car then expecting them not to fight through JC Penney and Wal-Mart. I am also expecting them not to argue through an early dinner as well. God, I know I am going crazy, again.
Oh yeah, did I mention that the two of them never get along and the fact that they are six years apart means that they fight over every little thing.
My advice to any parent reading this and thinking about when to have their second or third child is never wait longer than four years between siblings. My sister and I are five years apart and we never got along until after she moved out of the house when she was twenty-one years old. The problem was that I wanted to be exactly like her and be around her even when she was with her boyfriends, and especially her best friend. We also have two different ideas of clean and thus she would almost kill me over the fact that I was not a neat freak like she always has been.
The fact that my two girls are only three years apart seems to be the right age seperation. My older of the two was helpful for the most part when the youngest was an infant and now is able to play somewhat nicely with her younger sister. The fact that they share a room sometimes gets in the way but has worked out pretty well. I hope someday to give them their own room but at the moment it is not possible, maybe soon.
For now all I know is I have gone crazy in many ways but somehow we will get the shoes that we are going for and dinner I am treating to my two older children. I am thankful that my husband is going to stay with the youngest because that would just be way to much for me at this time. I did tell my husband if he wanted to come that he is welcome to but he kindly declined --- is it too late for me to change my own mind?
Getting Home From School
---
On a lighter note: I got some cleaning done this morning. Hubby woke up early saying that the house smelled like his mom's house when he was young so I guess I was doing something right.
Back to the Mundane
Now we are back into our old routines and hopeful will save money rather than spend it all before the month's end. It is never fun to see all your money go to the doctors and knowing that we will still owe them more after the insurance pays their portion. I am sure we will be paying the doctor off for several months now.
Anyway, that is all that is on my mind today.
Finally!
I am very thankful for the fact that the insurance got their act together sooner than later. I am also thankful that we are all well.
Well Again Well Again!
Yes, that is right all of us are well again and it is about time: it has only been a month since we were all well. I just hope that we all stay well these next few months of cold weather and that we do not go through this again for many more winters to come.
I usually love winter but this one I can truly say I am ready for it too end. There has been too much snow and ice for this part of the high plains. I hate El Nino years!
Ninety Dollars Later
I guess the lesson I learned is never get sick in the first place and by all means never try and prevent an illness. The insurance hates those that do not want to get sick, for some reason. It is kind of like the fact that a preventative physical exam is balked at because you are not sick. Why go to the doctor if you feel "normal", anyway!
Don't you just love the way insurance companies think? I hate it!
The Medical Insurance Saga Continues!
So for now the waiting game continues and I become more and more frustrated as time goes by, I am just lucky that the pharmacy has given me several days to get me through until this insurance snafu gets settled. If all else fails I will pay the almost nine dollars per pill (ten pills) just to get me over this flu and keep my youngest as healthy as she can be.
The health of my kids is the most important issue at hand!
My Turn Now!
Of course, none of this would have happened if the pharmacy would have called me before five when I called them because I would have used my own resources as a social worker to try to contact the doctor at the hospital before five-thirty as the pharmacy closes at six.
I am just glad I feel a tad better today because of the antibiotic and shots, today. I am just scared of passing this shit back to my youngest daughter as she is the most vulnerable. She has been coughing a tad but I had Daddy giver her an albuterol treatment last night and I gave her cough syrup before bed. I know that she will be fine though. I am also going to call her doctor tomorrow to ask if there is anything special I can do to prevent her from getting this shit again.
All I know is I have become the flu treatment expert this last month.
Is This Ever Going to End!
I feel bad for my son because he misses school because of this yes but he is also missing a spelling bee today and academic team practice this evening as well. I am just glad he is caught up with his homework/make-up work to this point. I am hoping he returns to school tomorrow but who knows.
The sick house is my life!
What a Month Thus Far
Yes, I know I had said that I thought my middle daughter brought the flu home to everyone but I am not so sure anymore now I am thinking my husband brought it home to all of us. All I know is everyone in the family has gotten the flu and I hate it.
---
I just called the nurse again and I will be taking my middle daughter in to get her on Tamiflu which is a good thing . I want to just get everyone well as soon as possible for obvious reasons.
Yesterday!
As a preventative measure I took my son in to the doctor yesterday afternoon because he was complaining on headache and sore throat and thus got him put on Zithromax/Azithromycin. I only did so because I do not want to reinfect my 21-month-old especially after the ordeal we have already gone through with her.
I think from now on my whole household is getting the flu shot that I normally do not bother to get because until this year it usually does not attack us this hard.
The Little One
It definitely has been a rather long week and I know that I never want to go through something like this again.
Doctor's Appointment #3
The joys of a kid under two with a cold is an oxymoron that is for sure. I just wish there was more that I could do to help her out.
My Days, No Longer Boring
So until tomorrow when I take my youngest to the doctor again I will continue the dang treatments and more. Another update will be forthcoming tomorrow afternoon.
There is a Ton of Snow
Geesh, what was the school thinking, well...ok so they were not thinking. The schools north and south of us were giving the students, and parents an extra hour to get their kids to school but not us.
Anyway, I got them there and all was safe so I know I should not complain but it is like living up in Minnesota thankfully though our snow will melt eventually. The roads are barely if at all cleared off and we will be the last of the last to get anyone to clear our town of the snow. Hubby and I are having flashbacks of our days in Columbia, MO when we used to find mounds of snow on the side of the roads, middle of the highways, and parking lots.
Come Back Come Back
I am back into the swing of writing on an almost daily basis so please come and experience the boredom I will share with you that at this point and time is my life. As a stay at home mommy there are times that very little is going on like today but of course every day is different because of the fact that each day the kids come up with different crises to make life somewhat interesting.
Our Shadow Cat Died
Shadow was a stray cat that we adopted four years ago when she was pregnant and back then was unsure of anything that crossed her path thus she held herself up in our room. She was a great mother but did not like any of the other six cats that have blessed this house. My husband was the one person that she attached to the most and she learned to tolerate me probably just because I slept near him.
The idea of death for my four and a half-year-old daughter was a little confused. She believes that she died because she stopped eating and drinking and her body was worn out from old age. I remember saying something similar to our son when we lost hamsters (Habnab and Ert-Ert).
I will say that having animals has been a great teaching tool about life: the whole life cycle can be seen from begining to end.
Anyway, that is what happened yesterday after our DSL was put in.
