Well, we are back to normal around here and sometimes that can mean the same old mundane routine of everyday life. I get up get breakfast ready for the girls, take a shower, then takethe two older to school. I come home let the dogs out make coffee if I had not made it after getting breakfast for girls. After that it is anybody's guess until noon when I get youngest lunch and then hopefully put her down for a nap around one from which I go read and or take a nap myself before I have to pick up my other daughter from school from which we clash until bedtime on most days.
For those who may have not read my blog carefully enough I did finish NaNoWriMo and am classified as a winner on Melia: National Novel Writing Month ...
Have a Great Day!
I'm a NaNoWriMo Winner
I reached the 50,000 word limit yesterday afternoon thus I am an official winner of NaNoWriMo Winner.
Now, I can get back to my every day life and not have to get everyone to leave me alone so I can finish my daily goals. The novel still has a lot of work but the story is written.
Next Saturday we will get our annual family holiday picture day. We will have to go up to Liberal again because our Wal-mart near us decided, stupidly, not to put a portrait studio in the new Super Wal-Mart. I guess we are just to be happy that they do at least have a grocery in the store.
The good news is we can go out to eat at AppleBee's because there is one in Liberal. I am hoping also to do a litle shopping as well but because the kids will be with us no Christmas shopping will get done until at least a week later.
Have a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving
Hey all, it is finally the holiday season and the Christmas consumerism has begun. You like me have probably gotten ten thousand emails regarding holiday sales starting today. Geesh! I hate the holiday buy, buy, buy-ism. My girls are better than my son as he always wants the most expensive gifts. This year he is bugging me about getting games for his Ninetendo DS and he also wants an IPOD.
Okay, so my shopping will have to wait until after the first. Thus today is focused on the turkey and the side dishes that go along with it. I have to say I did find a good article online that helps those who are new to cooking this American tradition it is: Southern Cooking: Traditional Oven Baked Turkey . Cyndi Allison wrote the article and it answers all the basic questions especial if you are like me and want to do the simplist turkey just to get through the day -- all the while I try not to figuratively kill my kids.

Long Monday
It is a long day that seems will never end. I just recently, within the last hour, just started my writing for the day. My son came home sick with a sore throat and a headache that got worse when he got to school thus he called me around nine am. I am pretty sure that it is because of the dang flu-shot because I have the same thing going on.
My youngest daughter added to my frustrations by being needy and sort of clingy as well. I am not sure if it also had to do with the flu shot.
Life was just not on my side. Hehe!

Still on Track
My NaNo Days are going well. I am on track at 34,000+ words of a total of at leas50,000+ I should get that and beyond on the 25th of this month. After today will have written 36,000 words. My only fear is Thanksgiving because I usual cook that day and thus the day seems mostly shot.
Now if only I can keep my son gone and my girls out of my hair I will get it done within three hours.
Sigh! Too much to ask for I know!

Almost Set for Flu Season
Well, as I said yesterday we would be getting our flu shots we got them. The girls still have to get a second dose of the shot because they are young they only get half the dose at a time. I did make the nrse semi-promise (sorta jokingly, but she understands my fear) because I am not about to go through what we went through last year. The fact that we are still trying to pay off the doctor bills is bad enough. I certainly don't need to add to the bill by being at the doctor's office every day in the month of February and a few days in March.
James said he would get his next week at work because he can as long as he can catch the nurse on campus. He says that that has been the main problem this semester because he is teaching six courses. He is better about these things than I am but I think last year changed everything.

Nothing Special
Today was quiet compared to what tomorrow will be. The kids and I are going to the doctor to get our flu shots and such. I am sure the kids will hate me all weekend but I got to do what I can to prevent my youngest from getting the flu this year. Last year was bad enough anf I refuse to go through that again. My son needs a physical for basketball as well, so we will get that too.
I got my words written today and am at 30,000+ words. I will try and get my writing done tomorrow before I go to the doctor's appointment.

Days 2,000 Words Done
Yup, that is right my writing is done for the day, I am currently at 28,067 words thus far . Todays scenes came a lot easier to write than yesterdays but that does happen and much of that is because I am in the middle of the story and sometimes it is hard to get over the hump and not get to the end before the time is right.
Sorry no pics today, just my writing. The irony is if I have finished my words for NaNoWrimo then you get more words to read. I actually have very little to say at this time because the only thing that is happening is my son is about a head smaller than me and my girls are playing nicely in their room together. The good thing about the youngest getting bigger is that she can better play with her older sister while her sister does not complain as much.
I am surprised that the youngest is playing so well this afternoon because she did not get a nap. My guess is the both of them will crash hard tonight and that means an early bedtime for them.

Sandy and Sammy Pics

Yes, she is in the dish. The fact that we no longer have a resident cat that pushes the food out with her paw means that James or myself have to push the food down for the cats. Sheila was our cleanliest cat and would always do things like bring down the food.

He goes in our huge pine tree every morning when I let him out while I take the kids to school. I am not sure if he wants to play with the birds or try and kill them. Maybe he just likes the tree!

Another Day, Another Day of Writing
I am happy that it is Monday, as that means that I have time to write while the two older kids are at school instead of writing after most or all three kids go to bed, which is how I do it on the weekend. I usually end up kicking daddy out of the house on those nights so that I can get my writing done, lucky for him it only last one month and then I am done for the year at least for that project.
My youngest just got in trouble for throwing away her lunch. She has come up with this idea that if she throws away food will get her what she wants so both James and I have to look in the trash before we give her cookies and or dessert. The lessons one must learn about life in general is difficult for a little one. The thing that always scares me is that she acts like her sister would if given the same situation.
Now, I need to get started writing my two thousand words for the day. Yesterday I wrote exactly two thousand words. I am now at 22,063 words and should accomplish 24,000+ words by the end of the day. I will get to half the NanoWriMo goal tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Our Sammy Cat
He is not to happy with the fact that we got yet another cat and he is not the youngest anymore. All I can say is he better get used to it because at the rate we get cats she is not the last one we will bring in during his hopefully long life. We seem to get one a year whether we need them or not and/or stay at around five cats. Right now we have Fluffball Stella, Mohawk, Spot, Sammy. and now Sandy and no for those wondering we did not plan to bring one in the same day we put one down -- it just happened that way.
We did have an idea that Sheila was getting sick as she started looking a lot like our cat, Shadow who died earlier this year. James wanted to take her in on Friday and the lady who found Sandy Candy and her littermate(s) wanted to bring it by on Friday so things just happened that way. Life just works out that way around here but I do think getting an replacement helps my family in the grieving process.
NaNoWriMo is still going well...I am at 20,067 words as of last night and will be at 22,067 or more tonight after I finish for the day.

For Those of You Keeping Track
My NaNoWriMo fun is continuing and I am right on track at a little over 18,000 words. I should be at 20,000 words by the end of the day. I write about 2,000 words a day and should be at the goal of 50,000 by November 25th if I keep at this rate. I am not hoping that I am able to keep up the speed and if I do then I will be great for getting to the end.
As for the kitten she is doing good. She still has yet to really use the litter box but I am not too suprised because it is a lot bigger than she is and it is thus difficult to get in because it is one of those big enclosed ones.
The next addition of our shoulder kittens. Sammy was getting too big for shoulder sitting so James needed a new parrot-cat. The cute thing is both of them have green eyes.

Rest in Peace -- My Screamer Sheila
Acreamer Sheila was born June 12, 2001 and was put to rest November 9, 2007.
James took her into the vet today because she has been increasingly going down hill for a week or more and I have to say she smelled like death the other night when I grabbed her off our bed because she was going after my one and only plant in our house. I knew that something was wrong when I found her in a box ful,l of my middle daughter's papers from pre-k, this morning and early afternoon before she went to the vet around three pm.
Anyway, it seems to be cat day around our house...we are the revolving doors of cats.
Aqua Dots Recall -- Date Rape Drug Found
Hmmm! Is there anything from China that is safe for our kids and us alike? Maybe, we should boycott things from China and thus start producing things in our own country again. If we did produce things here they maybe more expensive but we certainly would know that the government regulations would keep our kids safe from lead and other poisoning.
It is too bad that we are not going to California for Christmas because that would be safer than buying toys for our kids.
Sigh!

NaNoWriMo Continues
My writing is going really well and I am happy to say I am right on track at 12,000+ words written thus far and by the end of the day I should be at 14,000= words written. I do have to write my two thousand words before the CMA Awards this evening because I know that my family is not going to want to watch it but I do and thus I will be kicked to the bedroom, which is fine with me -- I like the alone time I get away from everything especially the four of the five cats.
Oh and did I mention my hubby wants to bring home a sixth cat from a student who has found some kittens she is nursing back to health after she found them on and around Halloween. If we get another cat I am wondering how my five cats are going to take it.
I would rather get another dog myself at least they do their business outside after they are potty trained. With cats you hope and pray they go in the litter box but usually they go wherever they want. Cats are cute but are a pain in the ASS.

Craxzy, Crazy, Crazy!
That is exactly how my weekend felt. My girls were on top of each other most of the weekend driving me crazy enough to cause me to write late at night instead of during the day thus I kicked Daddy out of the house so that I could get my two thousand words per day written. I am luck I guess because I now have it down to doing it in two hours time or one thousand words per hour or there abouts.
Today should be different as the older two are at school and the youngest is usually easy going. The good, or bad, news depending how you look at things is that she did wake up in the middle of the night and was up for about two hours so maybe she will get an earlier longer nap. All I need is a few hours of quiet time between now and picking up my middle child. This afternoon we have gymnastics so I will lose about two hours between 3:00 and 5:15 pm.
So, I guess I should get off this soapbox and go to my other two blogs to update them. Please check out the links on the right column.

Second Day of NaNoWriMo
Yers, you are going to hear about it probably everyday because during November it is not only my life but my family's life as well. I live and breathe to get my characters so they can tell their own tale on paper for all to read someday. I told my husband last night that I go to bed thinking of my characters and many a times dream of where they are and what they are doing. I sometimes even get a chance to see the road that lays ahead of them. I try my hardest though to keep myself from traveling to far ahead with them because I can only write so fast and thus if they get too far ahead of me I lose part of their story.
Ok, so there you go that is how I go about telling a tale of my characters to you my reader.

Made it Through the Ghoulish Evening
My kids got too much candy and we have a ton left over so I now have to figure out how to get rid of it all. I will probably make hubby take it to work and give it to his students (university) so the candy can rot their teeth and not my kids.
I took the girls around the neighborhood first and then their dad took them around the dorms afterwards. All I have to say is my little ladybug and witchy witch had full buckets by the time they got back from the dorms. The thing is I will never let my kids eat all the candy they got and even if I keep it to get rid of at Easter for the plastic eggs I must supply the school with for an Easter Egg Hunt I will still have bucket upon bucket leftover.
My son ended up going around with a neighbor and his brother just because it meant he did not have to go around with his sisters. His best friends ended up not going around so he was a little upset about that but then he found the neighbor who would.
